Relational welfare

We undertake research which tackles the most pressing social, economic and environmental challenges facing the welfare of cities.

In 2018 the Heseltine Institute was commissioned to undertake an evaluation of the Households into Work innovation pilot, a significant labour activation programme for the Liverpool City Region. Developed as an alternative approach to supporting people into work, Households into Work is focused on people living in households where more than one adult is unemployed and in receipt of benefit, rather than more traditional employment programmes that target individuals for support.
