The Renaissance of Liverpool
On the 5th June 2019 Lord Michael Heseltine’s contribution to Merseyside, the state of UK cities and the renaissance of Liverpool were all discussed at a special University of Liverpool event hosted at the House of Commons.
University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Janet Beer welcomed guests before organiser Professor Michael Parkinson, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Civic Engagement, introduced the programme of speakers.
The audience included former Deputy Prime Minister, Lord Prescott; Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson; Sir Graeme Davies and MPs Louise Ellman and George Howarth, alongside senior figures engaged in regeneration, culture and economic development.
