In partnership with Confucius Institute, Beijing Normal University Student Art Troupe is coming to the University of Liverpool and give a dedicated Chinese cultural artistic performance on 4 October 2019.
Beijing Normal University Student Art Troupe was set up on the 100th anniversary of the university in 2002. BNU Art Troupe combines the cultivation of artistic talents with the creation of fine arts, and commits to enriching the campus culture and bringing wonderful artistic activities to teachers and students. Up to now, BNU Student Art Troupe has become a school-level art organization with 11 performing groups and four functional departments, including Drama Society, Orchestra Band, Folk Dance Troupe, Chorus Band, Peking Opera Society, Kong-Fu Society, Aerobics Association, Street Dance Club, Host Association, Etiquette Team, which are the main force participating in campus performances. Each of the group is at the leading edge of art education in universities.
Beijing Normal University Student Art Troupe currently has more than 600 members, covering all grades of undergraduates, postgraduates and PHD students. It effectively promotes the road of art education in schools through various artistic activities, including "BNU Cinema", "Elegant Art Entering Campus", "Free Art Training Course", "National Art Entering Campus" and other aesthetic education projects.
The Chinese cultural artistic performance closely follows the theme of traditional Chinese culture. It takes folk dance, Kong-Fu and national instrumental music as its main manifestations. The collision between ancient and modern and the integration of Chinese and Western will present a splendid cultural performance for the audience.
The form of this Chinese cultural artistic performance is novel and diverse, and the content of the program is rich and wonderful. The culture of Martial Arts, which combines rigidity and softness, embodies Chinese characteristics of modesty and integrity; the beauty of national instrumental music, which is gentle and melodious, plays a peaceful and inclusive Chinese attitude; the creative combination of Kong-Fu and folk dance reflects brilliance and shows elegance and purity.
The whole performance highlights Chinese characteristics everywhere. Through this performance, we hope to disseminate the broad and profound traditional Chinese culture to the audience and show the charm and cultural heritage of China. At the same time, we hope that through the communication between the youth of the two countries, we can learn from each other and promote our friendship.
