Join the Director of Development & Alumni Relations, Christina, Turner, on Friday, September 26 for an exclusive evening at the Grand Park Orchard with Dr Rick Parry (BSc Hons Mathematics 1976, Hon LLD 2008), former CEO of both Liverpool Football Club and the Football Association’s Premier League.

A life-long Liverpool fan, Rick will talk about his love of “the beautiful game”, as well as his extensive sporting career at Liverpool Football Club and beyond.
For example, as CEO, Rick oversaw the development of The Premier League into one of the top professional football competitions in the world.

In addition to his career in football, Rick has held numerous advisory roles in the sports industry. After leaving his Liverpool FC role in 2009 he chaired the Sports Betting Integrity Panel and in 2011 acted as a special adviser to the UK Government’s Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee on its inquiry into football governance.

Among his other accomplishments, he has acted as advisor to Manchester's Olympic Games bid and was Chief Executive of the Manchester Phoenix Initiative, a major urban regeneration project which culminated in the establishment of the Central Manchester Development Corporation.

Currently Rick is Chairman of the University of Liverpool's Management School Advisory Board and on the Board of Directors for the New York Cosmos Football Club.
