Postdocs and early career staff have asked for a seminar on the mysterious world of research funding and how to win grants. So here it is - and everyone is of course welcome to come along. Ken Durose will tell you how it's done, and will use the EPSRC grant as the main example. He will tell you how to identify the correct funding mechanism, what a good project looks like, getting over key barriers, what you need to put in your proposal, how to structure it, how to write it - and how it is evaluated - and why you need a long term strategy and a contingency plan.
