DPD delivery email scam

Computing Services is warning all University members about a recent spate of scam emails purporting to be from delivery company DPD.

The email alleges you, a customer, have missed a delivery from DPD, and asks for details in order to arrange re-delivery. The customer is then redirected to a site which aims to steal personal and banking details.

Please note: Always look at the URL (link) in the address bar of a page before typing in any usernames, passwords or banking details.

Computing Services currently makes use of DPD services to deliver essential IT equipment to various members of the University, and thus asks all members to be vigilant should they receive any emails of this nature.

DPD has issued renewed guidance for their customers on phishing and how to spot a fraudulent email.

If you have any doubts at all as to the authenticity of an email you have received, contact the CSD Service Desk for advice before clicking anything.
