Vipashyana & Ashish: Our Enterprise Experience
Posted on: 25 December 2025 in Enterprise
Scholar Saver, a financial wellbeing platform founded by University of Liverpool graduates, has gone from an early-stage concept to a nationally recognised fintech venture. In this update, the team shares their recent milestones, the lessons learned along the way, and the impact they’re continuing to make on students across the UK.
Since the last time you featured us, Scholar Saver has evolved from an ambitious idea into a nationally recognised fintech platform. We won UK National Digital Startup of the Year 2025, competing against over thousands of startups across the country. We've secured investments from international investors, been selected for Tech Nation Libra 2025 (their most competitive cohort yet), and joined Startupbootcamp's accelerator program. Our mindset has shifted from "Can we build this?" to "How fast can we scale?" The validation isn't just about the awards, it's about the students whose financial stress we're actually reducing through our AI-powered platform.
Looking back, I'd have embraced collaboration sooner. Early on, we tried to figure out everything, from fundraising to product development to market positioning. The turning point came during an intense session that completely reshaped our thinking. Collaboration is always the foundation of innovation as great things can never be built in isolation.
List of things make me proud? Standing on the Big Ideas Stage at Ideas Fest, speaking at the AI Summit, FutureXPO Amsterdam, and various Fintech North Events, and meeting with investors and innovators, those experiences were surreal. But the moment that really hits differently is getting messages from students saying Scholar Saver helped them and that they finally understand their spending patterns. We started this because we saw students drowning in financial stress, sacrificing meals to make rent. Every time a student tells us they feel less anxious about money, that's the win. The UK National award is incredible validation, but it's the daily impact that keeps us building.
When it comes to evolving ideas and collaborations, being part of Tech Nation Libra, Startupbootcamp, Baltic Ventures, FFInc, all this connected us with founders across fintech, climate tech, and health tech, creating unexpected collaboration opportunities. We've also been shortlisted for the Great British Entrepreneur Awards (AI Entrepreneur of the Year) and nominated for Tech Impact Awards alongside big giants like KPMG and Experis. The most surprising direction? Realising our AI technology has applications beyond students, but we're staying laser-focused on our core mission for now.
The University of Liverpool isn't just where we studied, it's where Scholar Saver was born. From our Masters with distinction to now the people at the University, this community has been everything. To level up next, we need more bridges helping us partner with universities across the UK and access enterprise customers who can sponsor financial wellbeing for their student communities.
Our vibe in 2025?
Describe our business in three emojis, the song that sums up our journey, and finish this line:

Song: "Look At Me Now" by Charlie Puth (one of the most underrated songs ever).
For me, being an entrepreneur means building something that makes other people's lives genuinely easier and better, even when your own life feels chaotic. It's choosing impact over comfort, every single day.
