Progress to Postgrad: Elle

After graduating in 2025 with a BSc Physics with Nuclear Science degree, Elle Keenan continued their journey at the University of Liverpool, where they studied for an MSc in Radiometrics and built on the foundations established during their undergraduate studies.

What motivated you to pursue postgraduate study, and when did you realise it was the right path for you? 

Going to graduate job interviews, I realised that an MSc would make me a more competitive candidate. 

What were the biggest challenges you faced during the transition from undergraduate to postgraduate study, and how did you overcome them? 

Finances. Looked into bursaries available, but there was plenty of support from uni. 

Is there anything you are doing outside of your studies that has supported your development whilst studying? 

I work as a Maths and English GCSE tutor alongside my studies. I also demonstrate in BSc labs. Both of these have helped me improve my communication skills and ensure I have a good grip on the basics. 

If you could give future grads one piece of advice, what would it be? 

Keep an open mind and explore all options available to you!
