Holly Courtier is a Class of 2024 Geography graduate and current MSc Environmental Science student. She shares her journey in Progressing to Postgrad: My Path to Further Study.

How did you hear about your course?

I wanted to expand and continue my learning in a sector I am passionate about. Additionally, most of the jobs that I would like to pursue after university require a master's degree - and so it felt important to continue my studies to gain the qualifications that I’ll need for my future career.     

How did you get to where you are now?

Your favourite thing about your current course?       

Being in Liverpool - I believe it is a great city for any student! And the California field trip was amazing.

The most challenging part of your graduate journey?

The most challenging part of my graduate journey would be my dissertation. Having to learn multiple new skills alongside a new software language.  

Could you share one tip you wish you knew before you started

Take any new opportunity that arises. It may lead to so many great things – whether that’s making new friends, finding your niche in your subject area, or embracing further opportunities.
