I Got Hired: Matthew

Posted on: 15 November 2025 by Richard Finch in Class of 2024

Matthew is a Class of 2024 LLB Law graduate who now works as a Business Analyst at InPost.

How did you hear about your role?

My initial position post Uni was as a Business Analyst for Apple which I secured through a development program within the business.

How did you get where you are now?

By being curious and just putting myself forward for opportunities that I thought I would both do well in and find interesting. From there just trying to get expose to as many different departments/ lines of work as possible and then moving on when you think you’re ready for your next step. A big part of my development has been both my manager at Apple when I was working as a Business Analyst and now at InPost.

Your favourite experience on your course?

The Law Clinic over the summer months is a standout experience. Being able to have real world experience was an eye opener to how the industry actually works. Further to that, studying Medical Law & Ethics, being able to actually discuss the ethics behind decisions being made, and being able to look beyond the law is something I thoroughly enjoyed.

The most challenging part of your graduate journey?

Genuinely just being persistent in my studies, you’re not always going to want to go to a lecture or do the work needed but it’s just about carrying on even when you might not feel like it and thinking about your future.

What's your #1 piece of advice for future grads?

It sounds cliched but networking and just putting yourself out there and being curious. The worst that can happen is you get told ‘no’ and you find yourself in the position you started off in. It’s rare anyone has ever found themselves in worse position by putting themselves out there.
