I Got Hired: Samuel

Samuel Vernon graduated in 2024 with a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and is now a Hardware Engineering Graduate at Ocado Technology.

How did you hear about your role?

I was a YINI placement student at the company in 2022-2023, and because of my achievements I was recommended to join the graduate scheme programme.

The company had very knowledgeable staff working there who helped me grow throughout my internship, and I felt I wanted to return to that environment to further my career.

How did you get to where you are now?

Taking pride in my work and being adaptable to unfamiliar environments, as well as being open to learning new things about both the industry and other people.

The most challenging part of your graduate journey?

Returning following my internship and having to remind myself of second year concepts which applied to third year

What's your #1 piece of advice for future grads?

Keep on going - everyone says it but it’s so true, the right job will come up at the right time.
