I Got Hired: Imran

Since graduating with a BSc in Geography in 2024, Imran Patel has begun his career at WSP as a Graduate Consultant.

How did you hear about your role?

The industry was recommended to me, and the company had a stall at a careers event on campus where I found out more about the role.

How did you get to where you are now?

Taking the knowledge gained during my course and moulding it to showcase a varied skillset and thinking process helped during my recruitment.

Your favourite experience as part of your current role?

My favourite experience so far is having opportunities to make real world changes and differences, such as speaking directly with clients to encourage decision-making.

The most challenging part of your graduate journey?

Balancing university work whilst applying for jobs in the final year was challenging.

What's your #1 piece of advice for future grads?

Organise your job applications and get them sent off as early as possible. This allows you to stay on top of the process and prioritise university work as deadlines approach.
