Class of 2024 BA Communication and Media graduate, Francesca, talks about her Account Executive role at Fabric Social.
How did you hear about your role?
LinkedIn. I decided to apply because it was a fascinating opportunity with a rapid growing company. Their story of being a start up to the super successful agency we are today excited me and made me want to be part of the story!
How did you get to where you are now?
Throughout my degree I consistently built up my CV with various different experiences and job roles. I also took on a Year in Industry whilst at university. All the experiences helped route my career path and guide me to what I enjoyed and what I could see myself doing in the future.
When finishing my degree I applied to many jobs and had many rejections… but my motivations to find the right role kept me going. Thankfully when I found the opportunity at Fabric I knew it was a perfect fit for me. It is fast paced, innovative and collaborative filled with amazing people providing a family atmosphere. They are extremely interested in my progression and always aiding me with new skills and strategies to build.
Since joining, our agency has grew immensely and we have won many awards for our work with clients such as Currys and Andrex, including winning Best Large Agency at the Global Social Media Awards.
Your favourite experience as part of your current role?
I think winning Star of the Month in January was one of my favourite achievements at my current role as it was super rewarding to know my hard work was being noticed! I have also really enjoyed being involved in production shoots and building relationships with our lovely clients.
The most challenging part of your graduate journey?
The most challenging part of my graduate journey was definitely the rejection at the beginning. I am a very driven person, but it was difficult to continuously have to get up and start the search again. It was also very hard to leave friends and loved ones whilst transitioning into this new chapter of life.
What's your #1 piece of advice for future grads?
Very cliched...but don’t give up!! It’s so difficult to dust yourself off and keep searching but the right role for you will come along. Continue to be yourself, share what you are passionate about and you will find yourself in the right place with like-minded people sooner than you think.
