Liverpool Intern: Mazi

Computer Science student Mazi recently completed a Liverpool Internship with Arden Rede Ltd. Here’s his take on the experience.

"I recently completed an internship at Arden Rede Ltd. (previously Valuechain Ltd) through the Liverpool Interns programme at The University of Liverpool, and it has been an incredible learning experience.

Over the course of the internship I:

  • Developed Python-based automation solutions to streamline deployment workflows and database operations for IIS-hosted applications.

  • Integrated Bash and PowerShell scripting to automate retrieval and deployment of release builds from remote servers, reducing manual work and ensuring consistent releases.

  • Created Python CLI tools to run MySQL queries for updating production databases supporting key web applications.

  • Applied CI/CD principles and gained hands-on experience with Windows Server environments, scripting, and deployment operations.

  • Designed an automated supply chain forecasting pipeline combining Python data processing with R-Markdown analytics to generate interactive reports, providing insights into demand patterns and supply chain risks.

  • I'd like to thank Qiong Bu for being a wonderful manager, sharing her insights into supply chain management and software team leadership, and supporting me every step of the way. Also, thanks to Jyothi Mani Ravi Sankar, my fellow intern.

I’m very grateful to Paul Cullinan and Jane Colesby of the Careers & Employability, University of Liverpool for introducing me to this role and guiding me through the application process.

Following the internship I’m looking for a full-time opportunity in automation, scripting, deployment operations, or data analytics."
