Lowri Owen is a BSc Biological Sciences graduate now working as a Process Development Scientist at Sterling Pharmaceuticals.

How did you get to where you are now?

During my master's at the University of Liverpool I was looking through indeed for jobs available after I graduated in September. I was keen to work in an area similar to my degree and found the role of Process Development Scientist matched my expectations. I graduated with a 2:1 in Biological Sciences from The University of Liverpool and went on to study a MRes in Biomedical Sciences and Translational Medicine. I began working at Sterling in late August after I had completed my Masters.

What has been your best experience as part of your role?

Learning new techniques that are used in the laboratory and having the opportunity to work alongside fellow scientists.

What has been the most challenging part of your graduate journey?

The pressure of looking for a job post graduating is challenging. It is difficult to know the type of job you're looking to apply for without gaining experience in that certain area of work.

What are your top tips for other students and graduates?

1. Gain as much experience as possible!

2. Always be ready to learn.

3. Never be afraid to ask questions, not matter how silly you may think they are.
