I Got Hired: Business Transformation Analyst at Deloitte

Harsh Chaudhary is a Class of 2022 Master in Management (MiM) graduate, now working as a Business Transformation Analyst at Deloitte.

I heard about my opportunity through various job channels like Bright Network UK and Target Jobs, but eventually what really helped me was my own efforts and awareness of what I want as a career path and the different positions with different employers in that area.

It was not an easy journey. It involved countless applications and rejections. I applied for this job vacancy back in November 2021 for a start in February 2023.

It was a very long and competitive process comprising of five different stages and every stage being an elimination round. It tested your pressure handling and patience as well

I work in Finance Consulting and the best part of my role is meeting the clients first-hand, understanding their problems, working out how these specific problems affect their bigger picture, and then finding a tailored solution for it.

The most challenging part of being a graduate has been time management and multi-tasking. Jobs like consulting, investment and banking can be really challenging and if one does not practice good time management, things can take a wrong turn, quite easily. There is so much to learn with very little time which also brings the importance of prioritising into play.

My tips for current students and graduates:

Be consistent -- Apply regularly and EARLY, till you get it. There is no other option.

Be prepared to be rejected (a lot!). Also, do proper research about your eligibility for the role before applying for it. A lot of graduates apply for a role which they might be qualified for but, are not ELIGIBLE for.

Allocate your time into networking wisely -- A lot of people, including myself in the past have invested way too much time in networking; more than required and it rarely helps. So, carve out significant time for skill development, extra-curriculars.
