The Lead Liverpool Conference in April 2026 brought together recent graduates and early-career professionals for a day of insightful discussion, practical skills development, and meaningful connection.
Lead Liverpool reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders across the Liverpool City Region. By creating space for emerging talent to build confidence, expand professional networks, and gain valuable career insights, the conference marked an important milestone in supporting future regional leadership.
We were honoured to open the conference with inspiring contributions from Professor Tim Jones, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liverpool, and Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, who set a powerful tone centred on opportunity, ambition, and regional impact.
Our keynote speakers, Paul Corcoran and Calvin Eden, delivered engaging and thought-provoking sessions, sharing authentic perspectives and lived experiences that resonated strongly with delegates.
A series of interactive breakout workshops offered practical career development guidance, led by Leon McCowan, Ben Arguile, Isobelle Panton, and Carmel Dickinson. These sessions equipped attendees with actionable tools to support their professional growth.
The conference also featured an employability panel, where Graham Bond, Adam Brighouse, Thomas Prince, and Catherine Rawcliffe provided honest and valuable insights into what employers are seeking in early-career professionals.

We extend our thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the event, including our speakers, workshop facilitators, host Iwan Williams, Phil Adams and the Professional Liverpool team, our partner employers, and colleagues across the University.
We are also grateful to our event supporters: University of Liverpool Enterprise, Sir Peter Rigby Centre for Enterprise, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Professional Liverpool, Downing, Enterprise Mobility, DSG Chartered Accountants, CG, and RSM UK.
Finally, thank you to all delegates whose enthusiasm and engagement made the day such a success!
