Frequently asked questions:
Who is eligible for the HEAR?
All on-campus Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught students will receive a HEAR transcript. Postgraduate Research students will see activities in their PGR Toolbox.
I cannot access my Graduation documents/HEAR portal/I have a further query related to Graduation
If you believe you should have access at this stage, please contact Student Administration and Support should you have any queries/issues. Please note that the team are extremely busy at present but will reply to your query as soon as possible.
How can I view which HEAR activities are against my record?
The primary way that you can view your current record of participation in activities which are eligible to be included on your HEAR is in Liverpool Life. The HEAR portlet contained within here will show the activities that have been uploaded on your behalf by the staff member(s) who ran your eligible activity. Nearer to your graduation, you will also be able to tick/untick the activities that you want to show on your HEAR (up to a maximum of five). You will be contacted nearer to this time to complete this.
From June 2024, this will be able to viewed within your new student portal instead of Liverpool Life.
What activities are eligible for the HEAR?
For a full list of currently eligible activities please see the List of University Verified Activities for HEAR.
If the activity you have queried about is not included, do not worry. The HEAR is only an updated version of the University transcript you get when you graduate and employers do not expect it to be an exhaustive list of activities you were involved in. If you have no activities, then the section simply will not appear.
We do however still encourage you to include any activities not listed above on your CV and job applications in the future.
My activity is not on the list of eligible activities, what can I do?
If you have taken part in an activity that is not on this list then unfortunately it is not currently eligible for the HEAR. Only certain activities are eligible and must undergo a process to become eligible and then conform to certain standards throughout the activity’s proceedings. We are working to find and incorporate more activities every year so please ask the people responsible for running this activity to apply for HEAR approval for future years.

My activity is eligible for the HEAR but is not showing on my portfolio, what do I do?
This may be caused by an upload error or you did not fully complete the criteria to achieve HEAR accreditation. Please get in touch with the staff member who ran your activity.
If you are unsure as to who that is you can check the List of University Verified Activities for HEAR. This list also includes the Guild and Sports Liverpool for societies and Sports Clubs. Please email them with the following: Full name, MWS Username, Student ID, Name of missing activity, the year you completed the activity and any other helpful information so the members of staff can look into your query.
Is being a member of a guild society eligible for the HEAR?
Unfortunately, being a member of a club or society does not meet the HEAR minimum criteria and so is not eligible for the HEAR – only certain committee positions meet the criteria e.g President, Treasurer etc.

I have a query regarding an award or prize
Generally, awards and prizes are treated as separate to the extra-curricular activities which run under Liverpool+. We would suggest that you contact the issuing department in the first instance for further advice and to see whether this award/prize can be added to your student record at this stage.
I have a query regarding an Open Languages Module
The Opening Languages team will be able to deal with this query as it sits outside of MyLiverpool/HEAR. They can be contacted at: openlang@liverpool.ac.uk
I do not have a flourish account appearing on my PebblePad Portfolio, what does this mean?
