National Trust Formby Wayfinding Signs

In a lovely partnership between creativity and conservation, the School of the Arts technical team has been working closely with the National Trust (Formby) over the past few months to produce a series of CNC crafted wayfinding signs for the popular coastal site.
Utilising the School's CNC router, the team machined the text, symbols, and imagery that the National Trust wanted to feature on the new signs—bringing precision and flair to the project.
The next stage of the process saw National Trust volunteers take over, carefully sanding, painting, and varnishing each sign by hand. Their dedication ensured that every piece was finished to a high standard and ready for installation in the natural surroundings of Formby.
The National Trust has now shared images of the signs in-situ, and the results speak for themselves. The signs enhance visitor experience by providing clear guidance.
This collaborative project has been a real pleasure to work on, and the team at National Trust team in Formby are thrilled with the outcome.
