PhD success for Stephanie Oluwatobiloba Ogunrin

Many congratulations to Stephanie Oluwatobiloba Ogunrin for being awarded her PhD in March 2019. Stephanie’s thesis was entitled ‘A parametric analysis of the thermal properties of contemporary materials used for house construction in South Western Nigeria, using thermal modelling and relevant weather data research investigated’ and her research developed, tested and optimized the design of a climate-responsive, contemporary south-west Nigerian house that would be able to foster occupant thermal comfort for both present and future climates. Stephanie’s supervisors were Steve Sharples and Daveed Chow. Stephanie presented her work at a major intentional conference (Ogurin O and Sharples S Impact of building envelope construction on thermal comfort: a parametric analysis of modern, low income housing in south-west Nigeria for current and future climates. Proc. 33rd International Conference on Passive and Low Energy Architecture, Edinburgh, 3-5 July 2017). Dr Ogunrin has recently taken up the post of Research Associate in Energy Modelling at the Belfast School of Architecture & the Built Environment, University of Ulster.
