RIBA Mentoring

This November, 35 architecture students from the University of Liverpool went to the RIBA North headquarters to participate in the RIBA Student Mentoring scheme. The scheme is for Part 1 students who are matched with mentors from 18 RIBA chartered practices. The students were matched with They will meet on a number of occasions over the academic year. It is a commitment for both parties and a unique opportunity to share knowledge and best practice. Students may seek support for CV writing, interview techniques, portfolio preparation, presentation techniques as well as gaining practical experience such as being invited to site visits or attended design team meetings. Past students have found the mentoring scheme to be invaluable in terms of gaining practical experience, seeing an architect at work as well as forging relationships that go beyond the scheme.
