Partnership 2017

Two projects of the School of Architecture were awarded the Partnership of the Year 2017 prize as part of the Faculty of the Humanities and Social Sciences/Business Gateway partnership with Tate. The prize is given to teams that have formed an external collaboration which has contributed to University’s global reach and influence, student employability and research excellence. The two other shortlisted teams were the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Partnership (Department of Music) and the Liverpool-Bangalore Partnership (Institute of Global Health).

Within the partnership framework, Dr Marco Iuliano with Jane Moscardini, Valentino Capelo, James Jones and Michael Wilford are organising the Tate Architecture Studio in April 2018, while Dr Rosa Urbano Gutiérrez is organising a one week event in May, engaging visitors to the art gallery with her research on ceramics, currently on show in the RIBA North exhibition, Ceramica.

The judging panel comprised staff from across the University and this year received a record number of nominations - just under 400. The ceremony was hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Dr Roger Phillips and chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Janet Beer.
