Peer academic mentors

Launched in 2022, the Peer Academic Mentors (PAMs) arose from a student enhancement project which highlighted an appetite for peer-peer learning support.

This student-led group of volunteers from years 2-5 are trained in coaching and mentoring skills, learning theory and mindset development, and offer support to their peers in a number of ways:

  • One-off coaching sessions
  • Longer term mentoring relationships
  • Learning workshops.

Students may contact our PAMs directly or through referrals from staff. The mentors themselves are supported by staff through regular debriefing sessions, so both mentors and mentees benefit from this system.

The PAMs work alongside the Peer Supporters, creating a holistic support network among our student body.
