Support for trans and nonbinary students

We are committed to providing an inclusive environment for all our students, including those from our trans and nonbinary community. We can offer you a range of support throughout your time at Liverpool, read on for more details.

Our Student Support

Liverpool Guild of Students

If you’d prefer to access support away from the University, the Guild offers free and confidential advice to all students. They are independent from the University and provide non-judgmental support on any issues you’re facing. If they can't assist you, they'll direct you to the right people who can.

The Guild also offers guidance around your name, gender marker changes and pronouns.

The LGBT+ Society welcomes all members of the LGBT+ community and allies, holding social events and campaigning for LGBT+ rights.

Keeping safe on campus and reporting any issues

  • Our Report + Support online tool has been designed for you to let us know about any kind of unacceptable behaviour, including harassment, hate crime and discrimination. It’s quick and easy to use, and you can choose to share your contact details with us, or tell us something has happened anonymously if you prefer
  • SafeZone is a free safety and wellbeing app that allows you to contact Campus Support Services for assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week when you're on campus. It can be downloaded to your smartphone via the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store.

External resources and support

Here are some external sources for support designed for the trans and nonbinary community. Please note that this is a non-exhaustive list, and you may find other organisations useful too.
