Hate Crime and Discrimination

We are proud of our diverse community and will not tolerate hate crime or discrimination. If you’ve been targeted because of your race, religion, sexuality, gender identity, disability or any protected characteristic, this page explains your options and how we’ll support you.

Hate crime and discrimination are serious issues that target individuals based on protected characteristics such as race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Hate crime may include physical violence, threats, verbal abuse, or damage to property. Discrimination may involve unfair treatment, exclusion, or stereotyping based on identity.

We are committed to building an inclusive campus where every student feels respected and valued. If you've experienced or witnessed a hate crime or discrimination, please tell us.

Support is available whether you choose to report anonymously or not. We will:

  • Offer emotional and practical support through our Wellbeing Team
  • Help you understand your reporting options
  • Work with you to put safety measures in place if needed
  • Take your experiences seriously and investigate where appropriate
