On May 12-14 and 16, we hosted the 2025 Spring Servitization Conference (SSC2025), the most important research event focused on how companies can improve their competitive advantage and environmental outcomes through services associated to the physical goods they sell.

Led by Aston University in partnership with The Advanced Services Group and UK Research and Innovation’s Economic and Social Research Council, this joint conference was successfully attended by nearly 100 academics and practitioners.

Since 2010, the Servitization Conference provides an invaluable forum to explore industry and academic perspectives on an interdisciplinary phenomenon that connects key business areas, including operations, marketing and strategic management.

Under the theme ‘Evidencing Productivity and Sustainability through Servitization: The Role of Suppliers, Intermediaries, Customers and Competitors‘, the event featured insightful presentations from leading industry and research experts.

After the main conference held at The Spine Building, was followed by a social event at the Museum of Liverpool, where delegates has the opportunity to dine with colleagues and expand their professional network.

The conference was preceded by the Servitization Doctoral Symposium at the Management School, where PhD students shared their original research on topics, such as product-service systems, services-centric business models and service-dominant logic.

Via the Spring Servitisation Conference’s one-track programme, doctoral students also received invaluable feedback on their work from delegates.
