BA Marketing students successfully complete first ULMS X Open Media project

BA Marketing students have gained real world experience through a collaborative project with OPEN Media, as part of compulsory first year module ‘Professional and Academic Skills for Marketing’.

This module aims to introduce students to the academic and professional skills required to make their university experience a success. Alongside also examining skills in a marketing context, the module provides opportunities to develop key professional skills needed in the corporate environment- connecting students with real businesses is an important factor in achieving this.

OPEN Media have joined students for lectures on campus in recent months and in December, came back on campus to see 19 teams at a poster presentation event, concluding 10 weeks of hard work from our students. During this final visit, students showcased their research and campaign ideas, using OPEN Media as a case study and received insightful feedback from the team, as well as growing their professional network.

Speaking on the success of the project, Director of Studies for our BA Marketing programme Dr Rachel Spence said ‘It has been a delight to see project ideas develop over the course of the module whilst students simultaneously develop an array of key skills’.

OPEN Media commented ‘A massive well done to all students involved, we loved seeing your campaign ideas come to life!’
