Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship runs final Monthly Meet-Up for this academic year

The Entrepreneurs’ Monthly Meet-up is a University HEIF-funded initiative run by the Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship in collaboration with six colleges and universities across the Liverpool City Region.

The aim of the events is to connect entrepreneurial students and graduates from across Liverpool City Region and expose attendees to the very best entrepreneurs and independent businesses in the city.

The Entrepreneurs’ Monthly Meet-up runs eight times across the academic year with the most final event taking place on Thursday 25 May. The Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship is pleased with the growth and continued success of the monthly meet-ups. Over 80 individuals attended the final instalment of this academic year - with plans to continue to run more monthly meet-ups in the 2023/24 term.

This edition was tech-focused and held in The Botanical Garden on New Bird Street in the Baltic Quarter area of the city. This monthly meet-up ran in collaboration with Startup Grind Liverpool which is a community of founders, programmers, operators and investors committed to supporting each other.

The organisation's founder, Jonny Clark spoke about his role in forming the chapter and helping to develop the entrepreneurship eco-system across Liverpool as well as talked about his work and journey as a serial entrepreneur and investor in numerous tech-based start-ups.

As usual, there was lots of informal networking with free food and refreshments within an awesome summery setting with Hot Mess Pizza Company serving up Detroit-style pizza goodness and nibbles for everyone.

Since the first event in October, a total of 600+ people have participated in and attended the monthly meet-ups. Across the summer the Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship aims to consult with participants to gain feedback on the way that they can be improved for the future as well as to gain suggestions for the themes and spaces it can be run in Liverpool in the new academic year.

In the meantime, before hopefully running more Entrepreneurs Monthly Meet-Ups from October 2023 onwards, the initiative is going to be running a 3-day Start-up School in June to further support participants.
