Management School Football Industries MBA (FIMBA) students have enjoyed a visit to FIFA and UEFA headquarters, in their latest trip to Switzerland.

The cohort attended masterclasses to gather exclusive insights from professionals working at elite football governing bodies, covering topics such as international strategy, corporate governance, sponsorship deals and activations.

Highlights from this trip included masterclasses into the developments in women’s football and the new Champions League format along with the revenue management that accompanies these leagues.

A key part of the FIMBA programme and one that students really enjoy are international trips were they visit football clubs, governing bodies including UEFA headquarters each year and other sports related organisations.

Alongside the latest trip to Switzerland in early May, FIMBA students have visited Madrid as part of the 2022/23 academic year.

In addition to providing invaluable first-hand knowledge, “these trips help students to know each other better,” said FIMBA Director of Studies, Dr Babatunde Buraimo.

“Students get the opportunity to speak to people who are doing the jobs they may want to do in the future and to understand the complexities of managing and organising football at the highest level.”

FIMBA student Sarah Faiz (pictured below), said, “It was an amazing trip! The quality of the experience and the learning was first class.

The information and insights I learnt gave me so much to think about as to the future of football, as well as what career I want to pursue once I’ve completed the programme.”

“The memories and connections I’ve made are invaluable.”
