Soham Sarkar (Liverpool MBA, 2022) recently took part in a programme titled ‘Design Your Future’ pitching competition which is designed to support enterprising and entrepreneurial initiatives from across The University of Liverpool. Design Your Future offers applicants financial support to those who are running their own innovative projects, seeking help to fund and develop their business idea.

The Design Your Future programme ran virtually, covering different subject areas, delivered by multiple industry experts over many weeks. Each week attendees took part in an interactive group setting, a question and answer session plus a takeaway task to personalise the knowledge gained to enhance students and graduate’s enterprise and put their learning into practice.

As the programme concluded, attendees were tasked with submitting their business pitches digitally. Soham was one of the selected few whose digital pitch submission was short-listed and was called into a live pitch competition where he was awarded with £500 to further develop his business idea.

Soham’s pitch focused on his idea to build a hybrid non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace that is chain agnostic and offers authenticated, verified NFTs with first in market in-built rewarding system for creators of NFTs.

Alongside taking part in the Design Your Future competition, Soham was identified by Liechtenstein-based Company Builder and Venture Capital Investor to potentially invest in his business idea. Unfortunately, due to visa restrictions Soham had to take a step back from the opportunity but has been invited to join the programme again at a later date.
