Terminators or Tech Transformers for Marketing

The Marketing Professional Interest Network recently hosted a lively online panel discussion on the use of artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality in the marketing industry.

Dr Ahmed Al-Abdin, Lecturer in Marketing, was joined on the panel by:

  • Ian Millner – Co-Founder and Global CEO, Iris
  • Louisa Harker – Managing Partner, Creative Underground
  • Tim Butler – Founder and CEO, Innovation Visual
  • Chris Elson – Client Development Manager, Apache

As technological advances have progressed over the last decade, marketers have embraced new immersive technologies such as AI, AR and VR to bring a new dimension and perspective to storytelling. During the session, panellists discussed the positive impact these new technologies have had on the industry and the opportunities they bring. Not forgetting the other side of the coin, the discussion also covered the ethical issues which the industry faces when it comes to implementing and using AI, AR and VR within new products and campaigns.

The Management School would like to thank the panellists for giving up their time and contributing to such a fantastic discussion.
