On 17 July 2020, the undergraduate Accounting and Finance team met with the final year cohort over Zoom to celebrate the cohort’s graduation.

Organised by Adam Deller, Accounting and Finance Lecturer, and Helen Scott, Director of Studies, the event was an opportunity for students to reflect upon their achievements and share experiences from their time studying at the Management School.

Following the Zoom call, students were invited to watch a video (compiled by Adam Deller) which included short messages from academics to the graduating class of 2020.

Helen Scott said to student “you should be very proud of yourselves. Not only have you completed your degree, but you have done so during a global pandemic.” There was even nod to the recent reds title victory as lecturer Chris Barlow congratulated the achievements of this years “Covid Class”.

Adam Deller commented that academics are “really excited for you to keep in touch and hear about what you are going into in the future”. He said, “we know you guys are going to go into some incredible things” and “we will miss you and we look forward to seeing you in a year when you’re all professional and even more grown up.”

Despite the lack of physical celebration this year, the School plans to invite the Class of 2020 back to campus for belated celebrations next year.
