Virtual MSc careers sessions

The Management School offers master's students an enhanced career support programme which includes dedicated Careers Consultants, job search resources and employability sessions.

During lockdown, the careers consultants have been working hard to offer the same level of support online.  They have recently organised a number of virtual workshops which students have found useful and insightful:

Midea Group China
Midea Group China is one of the Global Fortune 500 companies and the world’s largest robots and appliance manufacturer.  The company recently delivered an exclusive webinar for our Chinese MSc students which featured speakers such as the Head of HR and Graduate Internship Program Manager.   Summer Young, Management School 2019 alumnus, also featured in the webinar, sharing her career journey into Midea Group.

The session included a detailed introduction to the internship program (which offers 1300+ positions in 10 different disciplines) as well as a live Q&A session.

Jaymin Patel
Following on from Jaymin's previous 'Network Like a Rockstar' virtual workshop, MSc students were excited to take part in the second and final virutal workshop titled 'Interview Like a Rockstar'.

Jaymin has been on “both sides of the interview table” and for the first time ever, discloses the mindsets, expectations, and evaluation processes that interviewers use to advance students through various rounds of interview to the final offer. Jaymin has delivered presentations to 100s of students across 5 continents, always ranked as the #1 or #2 speaker of the year.

Jaymin has shared his tips and tricks collected from dozens of MScs, MBAs, undergraduate students, and industry professionals on their journey to get their dream job –including his own personal successes and failures as a student and recruiter.
