MBA Masterclass with CEO of Bibby Line Group
MBA students were invited to attend a masterclass delivered by John Cresswell, CEO of Bibby Line Group, as part of the MBA Catalyst programme.
Established over 200 years ago, Bibby Line Group is one of the UK's longest established family-owned companies. With its headquarters based in Liverpool, the £800million business now operates in 16 countries, employing around 4,000 people across sectors including; retail, financial services, distribution, marine and construction equipment hire.
John Cresswell was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Bibby Line Group in 2018. Prior to this appointment, John has also served as; CEO of Arqiva; CFO, COO and CEO on the board of ITV plc; Director of Liverpool Football and Athletic Grounds plc; and Director of Ambassador Theatre Group.
Dr Danai Christopoulou, Director of Studies Liverpool MBA, said "Attendees heard more about John’s journey to becoming a CEO, gaining invaluable insight into leadership practice through the personal experiences he shared.
As well as providing useful advice on the skills required to lead an organisation, John also spoke about his past experiences of issues that a CEO may be confronted with, helping students to develop a deeper understanding of strategic management.”
There was also an opportunity for attendees to ask questions on any of the topics discussed during the masterclass.
