Winner of 2019 Newhall Entrepreneurship Research Impact Award announced

Dr. Virva Salmivaara, Winner of 2019 Newhall Entrepreneurship Research Impact Award, and Professor Pablo Munoz, Director Centre for Entrepreneurship

The Management School’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Newhall Publishing have awarded the 2019 Newhall Entrepreneurship Research Impact Award to Dr. Virva Salmivaara, Post Doctoral Researcher at Aalto University and Oxford University.

Dr. Virva received the award for her research titled:Rhetoric mix’ of argumentations: How policy rhetoric conveys meaning of entrepreneurship for sustainable development. Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice.’

In line with the Centre for Entrepreneurship’s mission, this annual award celebrates and encourages methodologically rigorous and societally beneficial entrepreneurship studies that have the potential to make the world a better place. It aims to identify and reward peer-reviewed entrepreneurship research building strong links between practice and academia.

Virva received a £1,500 prize and a certificate of recognition from the joint sponsors along with the honour of being named the 2019/20 Impact Fellow of the Centre for Entrepreneurship.

The Centre for Entrepreneurship is focused on bringing research and managerial and entrepreneurial practice together by means of problem-based, impact-driven research. Its research tackles the human, ecological, economic and cultural determinants and consequences of entrepreneurship, engaging academics and practitioners within and beyond the Management School.
