Global Entrepreneurship Week

Bringing together 10 million people from over 170+ countries, across 35,000 events, Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) takes place this week.

‘Each year, GEW reaches millions of people through local, national and global events and activities – often framed by key global themes that shine a spotlight on leading topics in entrepreneurship.’ (Gen Global).  It brings together a network of participants who can help each other take the next step, no matter where they are on their entrepreneurial journey.  The four global themes for this year are Education, Ecosystems, Inclusion and Policy.

Throughout the week, the Management School will be helping to celebrate and inspire entrepreneurial behaviour in staff, students and beyond, by sharing a range of content.

Kicking things off, for our activity, is a podcast with Dr Pablo Munoz, Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship.  Pablo talks about his research and outlines some of the ways in which the Management School supports entrepreneurship.

We’ll also be attending the annual Entrepreneurship Expo taking place on Thursday (20 November) at Sensor City.  This event allows undergraduate students to showcase the business ideas they’ve been working on since the beginning of their first semester, as part of the entrepreneurship module.  Students are required to work in teams to create real, trading firms capable of turning a profit.

Keep an eye out on our social channels throughout the week to discover more about what entrepreneurship means to our students, staff and the businesses we work with.
