Catalyst: Careers, Jaymin Patel

The Management School’s MBA cohort recently took part in a full day workshop with Jaymin J. Patel - Global Speaker, Coach and Author.

After learning effective networking strategies whilst studying at college, Jaymin landed his dream job at a top company.  Since then he has inspired students and industry professionals all over the world using his Rockstar approach.

During Jaymin’s visit to the Management School, he gave MBA students insight into how they can become Rockstar candidates when applying for jobs after graduation.  He discussed various networking skills and strategies that will help develop lasting relationships, as well as effective interview techniques.

After the sessions, attendees were invited to attend a ‘Niche Night’ at Avenue HQ along with a variety of alumni from large organisations and local SMEs.   This event gave attendees the opportunity to put their new networking skills into practice.

Andrew March, MBA Candidate, said “I thoroughly enjoyed the sessions with Jaymin and found the advice on LinkedIn networking particularly useful - 500 being the magic connection to demonstrate usage of the tool and personalising all connection invites.

A great point mentioned was to keep in mind that the interview starts from the moment you meet a recruiter not when you are in the chair.”
