Two University of Liverpool alumni visited the Management School on Monday 3rd June to deliver the first session of the Master’s Week programme.

Laura Doherty, Independent Financial Advisor, and Ashton Moses, Business Development Associate and Account Manager at Euromonitor, both spoke about their career journey since graduating and shared their top tips for success.  There was also an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and take part in an informal networking session.

Master’s week is a four day programme devoted to accelerating the job market readiness of master’s students.  Fourteen events will take place over the course of the week and will be delivered by external speakers and the careers team.  On one of the days, the sessions will be specifically focused on enterprises and business start-ups for those students who are planning to start their own business.

Sadie Lawty, MSc Careers Advisor, said “Master's week brings together a range of employability and enterprise seminars and provides students with an insight into different career opportunities. It is a great opportunity for students to network and hone their application and interview techniques.

By inviting alumni back to the university students gain a unique, honest and realistic insight into life after graduation.   Alumni guest speakers took part in an informal Q&A which enabled students to ask questions, discover new role models and to visualise their professional selves!”
