The winners of this year’s ‘We Can Work it out’ master’s consultancy challenge were announced during an awards ceremony on Thursday 28th February.

During the challenge, which lasted for four weeks, students worked with a number of organisations, including Sysdoc, Chester Zoo, PwC, Santander, Airbus, Open Programmatic, Deal Moon, Decathlon, Totem learning, Rad Wraps, Mando, and Hays.

Each company provided two groups with the same consultancy problem and their findings were judged during the final presentations.

Participants received a certificate and winners also received a £25 Amazon gift card.  In addition to their prizes, a number of teams were given the offer of further support beyond the competition, with one company offering a visit to their headquarters and another providing a meeting with the CEO to further discuss the findings of their projects.

Jiayan Wu, MSc Human Resource Management student, was part of the Hays team and commented “I think the consultancy challenge is a good opportunity for Management School students to put in to practice what they are learning.

The project helped me develop many different skills including presentation, co-operation, problem solving and confidence building.

Not only did it help to improve these skills but it also gave me the chance to meet and connect with employers.”
