MBA students attended the first masterclass of the new semester on Wednesday 30 January.

The session was delivered by Dr Naseem Naqvi, co-founder of the British Blockchain Association, and gave students an understanding of everything they need to know about cryptocurrencies.

Dr Naseem is an expert in this new and growing area.  He is a Blockchain academian, Fin-tech entrepreneur and a Consultant Neurovascular Physician in the NHS.  Naseem is currently working on a research project evaluating the utility of blockchain and DApps (decentralised applications) in medical education - a system that would enable educational institutions to create, customise and deploy decentralised applications in the medical education landscape.

Throughout the masterclass students were told about the origin of crptocurrency, how it works and how it is being utilised by organisations all over the world.  Attendees also had the opportunity to ask questions about cryptocurrencies and blockchain.

The masterclass is part of a series, designed to give students insight into a diverse range of topics including various key business issues and career development strategies.  Upcoming guest speakers include; Mark McClennon, CIO Burberry, David Johnstone, Chairman Medisoft, and Eliot Forster, CEO F-Star Pharma.
