Tayah Wood, BSc Mathematics with Finance 2014 graduate, visited the Management School to lead a session as part of the ULMS Extra programme.

During her talk, Tayah gave students an idea of what her average day looks like in her role as a Government Operational Research Analyst.  She discussed the benefits of working for the Civil Service and outlined the main focus of each of the different departments.

Students had the opportunity to share their views when they were presented with a case study question which allowed them to interact with each other.

Towards the end of the session, Tayah spoke to students about her time at University and gave them insight into ways to strengthen job applications, for example, by attending extra-curricular activities such as sports and Camp America.  Attendees also heard how applying for internships and gaining work experience helps to build employability skills and prepare for life after graduation.
