The Management School hosted this year’s NWSSDTP Economics conference which took place 10th-11th May at Blackburne House.

The North West Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (NWSSDTP) is one of 14 doctoral partnerships in the UK, created by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).  It comprises the Universities of Liverpool, Lancaster and Manchester and provides master’s and PhD students with access to funding and quality research training in social science disciplines.

The conference was an opportunity for students to showcase their work and network with delegates from all three universities.  After an introduction from Rida Laraki, Director of Research CRNS at the University of Paris Dauphine and Professor at the University of Liverpool, third year PhD students were invited to present to the conference to help prepare them for post education and entering the world of work.  Second year PhD students also showcased their work by creating posters on their research which were displayed during a poster session.
