Kit Nicholl visits the Management School

The Management School welcomed Kit Nicholl, Analyst at IHS Markit, who gave a talk to MSc Sports Business and Football Industries MBA students.

Kit Nicholl is an analyst on the Europe/CIS Country Risk team and is in charge of the analysis of security developments across Western Europe.  He also covers political and socio-economic developments in Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Ireland, Iceland, Malta and Slovenia.

After giving some information about the company and his role, Kit went on to give students insight into what country risk is and identified examples of when his expertise have been required.  He also spoke about the different categories of risk and outlined the different ways of sourcing intelligence and how this is then used. 

IHS Markit has utilised its expertise to assist with large sporting events, for example, there are a number of stakeholders involved in the upcoming European games in 2019 that require intelligence about various issues such as investors, construction firms and the media industry.

The talk comes as part of the weekly MBA speaker series which helps to improve students’ understanding of key business issues from a range of roles, sectors and industries.
