Management School students take part in assessment centre exercise

Undergraduate students recently took part in an ULMS extra session run by Severn Trent

Severn Trent is a leading water supplier to hundreds of thousands of homes across the UK.  Annually its hosts graduate recruitment sessions involving group assessments which can often seem daunting to graduates.

The session involved a group exercise which was designed to improve students’ knowledge and confidence of what to expect at an assessment day.  There was an emphasis on the behaviours and strengths required to make applicants stand out and students received feedback on how they could improve their performance.

ULMS Extra incorporates a range of co-curricular activities for undergraduate students in addition to their studies.  Sessions include guest speakers, mock interviews, business games and assessment workshops aimed to improve skills and enhance employability.

The skills participants learnt during the assessment centre activity can also be applicable when applying for placement years as they often involve a similar application process to graduate roles.  Find out more about Year in Industry.
