The University of Liverpool Latin American and Hispanic Studies (LAHS), developed within the Management School, will be holding a conference, with financial support from the Society of Latin American Studies, to discuss the topic of corruption in Latin America.

LAHS was established in June 2016 and aims to develop and promote academic and applied research concerning business and management in Latin America.  The conference forms part of the group’s activities with the objective of facilitating multi-disciplinary and international research to identify more effective policies and interventions to reduce corruption.

The event will take place in the Management School on Thursday 31st May where attendees will consist of academics, government organisations, industry partners and postgraduate-students from a number of disciplines.

Jannine Poletti-Hughes, Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance and Co-Chair of the Latin American and Hispanic Studies (LAHS), said about the conference, “This is a great opportunity for exchanging ideas and learning from esteemed speakers and to open up the possibility of conversations and collaboration with government and international organizations in battling corruption in both emerging and mature markets.”
