FIMBA students welcome Peter Moore, CEO of Liverpool FC

Peter Moore, CEO of Liverpool Football Club, recently visited the Management School to address the FIMBA cohort.

After completing a master’s degree at the California State University, Peter went on to work for a number of globally renowned brands including Reebok, Sega, Microsoft and EA Sports.  His past experience includes working on a range of marketing strategies alongside influential business people such as Bill Gates.

Peter became chief executive officer of Liverpool FC in June 2017 and he describes the club as, “unlike any other in the world”.  He told students about his role, the challenges the club faces and projects he is currently working on, for example, running fan forums and developing technology to reach new global markets.  Students were also given the opportunity to ask questions about the future of the club and how being an LFC fan effects his role as CEO.

Dr Babatunde Buraimo, Director of Studies for the FIMBA programme, commented, “It was great to welcome Peter to the Management School. What was fascinating about his talk were the various aspects of leadership and striving towards organisational goals. The FIMBA students were very grateful for the time he spent with them and the advice he was able to give.

Having visited the clubs earlier this semesters and meet with executives from the academy and the commercial department, Peter’s presentation would have provide the students with an extensive view of Liverpool FC as a business. We are all very grateful to Peter for the time and effort.”
