ULMS Extra: Santander

As part of ULMS Extra Neil Tweedle, Business Relationship Director at Santander, visited the Management School to talk to students about banking for businesses.

Neil gave a brief overview of his role and explained how he looks after business clients from account set up through to securing finance.  Students also learnt about the entrepreneurship and enterprise support available to them from Santander through its partner universities scheme.  This includes the entrepreneurship awards which give a financial boost to student and graduate business ventures, as well as the SME internship programme which funds work experience opportunities for students and graduates.

After this, Neil went on to give advice on how to set up a business bank account and how to form a successful banking business relationship.  He also discussed the information required when applying for funding for a small business.

The talk was extremely useful for students who are thinking of starting up a business or those that would like to work in the banking sector.  Lee Wainwright, Employability Projects Officer, said, “We were delighted to welcome Neil to the Management School.  It was great to see so many students engage about business banking and ask questions directly relevant to their start-up businesses.”
