MBA students take part in Army leadership training event

A number of the Management School’s MBA students recently took part in an Army leadership training event as part of their leadership, management and organisation module.

The training took place in the base of the North West Officer Training Regiment in South Liverpool and started with a presentation on the approaches the Army takes to leadership from Captain Catherin Ferguson, Adjutant for the North West Officer Training Regiment.

After the presentation, students were arranged into teams and put through their paces in a series of command tasks.  These included practical problem solving exercises such as building a shelter, retrieving equipment from a contaminated area and communicating through the use of a whistle to guide blindfolded team members through obstacles.  The teams all received feedback on their performance after they had completed each of the tasks.

The students enjoyed participating in the event and also received an army leadership certificate after completing.  ‌
