Football Industries MBA (FIMBA) students and alumni, accompanied by Dr. Sue Minten and MBA Careers Adviser, Fiona McNamara, recently attended the inaugural ‘iworkinsport’ careers conference and job fair in Lausanne, Switzerland. The University of Liverpool is an official academic partner with IWorkinSport which means current students are automatically invited to attend the Job Fair.

Students had the opportunity to attend interviews and network with globally recognised employers within the sporting industry that included Adidas, Sportradar, FIFA, UEFA, NBA, IMG and the International Volleyball Association.

The conference programme provided an insightful schedule and included presentations on industry trends, how to make your CV stand out and the value of education in sport which students found invaluable.

Students commented on how useful the conference was in regards to providing exposure to major sports employers. The event also gave staff working on the FIMBA programme an opportunity to converse directly with employers to better understand the skills, attitude and knowledge that sport employers are looking for in a fluid job market. This will only enhance the dedicated, one to one careers support available to students on the programme.
