Enactus Liverpool take part in National Finals in London

The University’s Enactus Team attended the competition, which took place on the 10th and 11th April. The team was successful in reaching the final after their success in the regional competition which saw them present progress against their projects.

The dynamic, energy-filled event brought together 750 university students, 60 academics, and over 350 senior UK business leaders across two days of celebration and collaboration of Youth Social Action and Social Enterprise. 

The Nationals presented an opportunity to meet sponsors and attend events held by Barclays and ERAC, as well as a huge Enterprise and Employability Fair, with 34 sponsors from KPMG and EY to Unilever and GSK. Keynote speakers at the event included Lord Victor Adebowale CBE, CEO of Social Enterprise UK. Students were able to network with Enactus members from across the country who share the same goals and vision.

The Enactus Liverpool team commented: “It was impressive to see just how much hard work and dedication students put into their societies, projects and presentations and witnessing the incredible progression everyone made during the year. The entire experience was unlike any other, watching the presentations and realising how a small group of students can make such a meaningful difference to the lives of tens of thousands of people. It's truly gives you a sense of pride being part of a global community like Enactus”.

The School’s achievements also extend to , Senior Lecturer in Finance and Accounting at the Management School, who was awarded the “University Adviser” award at the Nationals.

The team said: “Gary is incredibly dedicated to helping individual members of our team develop and grow their key skills. We're extremely lucky to be surrounded by a network of people who have incredible belief and faith in what we can achieve, instilling confidence in us to really impact and empower; and truly create a better, more sustainable world. We have received endless support from the University and the Management School”.

The team were accompanied to the Finals by alumni mentor, (Business Studies, 2014) who said: “My role as a mentor involves sharing knowledge, supporting and challenging current students to increase their impact and achieve even more in Enactus. I am always inspired at what a team of students can achieve in a year, and the ingenuity of the projects presented this year was impressive to see”.
